Award Programsof the year awards
The AGC Of-The-Year awards are given to member firms who maintain the highest standard for quality, ethics, and professionalism. The winners are determined by votes of their colleagues and associates; the men and women who see firsthand how they conduct their business. These awards are given to companies that stay on schedule, pay bills in a timely manner, prioritize safety, and deliver quality work. Award Categories:
Members vote by ballot in December. PINNACLE Awards
The PINNACLE Awards program was established in 1999 by the Nevada Chapter AGC to honor the “Best of the Best” in northern Nevada construction projects, recognizing construction leadership, excellence and community spirit. Projects must be completed in the calendar year. Independent judges measure entries based on safety, craftsmanship, challenges met, client relations, innovation, and “green” building practices. Utah AGC assembles a panel of contractors and associates from their membership, and members of their staff to judge the projects. A total of 15 PINNACLE Awards may be awarded, five in each of the three categories. All entries will be eligible for the “People’s Choice Award.” This award is decided at the PINNACLE Awards Ceremony based on the votes of those in attendance. Attendees are given a voting ballot to vote for the project they feel best represents the PINNACLE. Award Categories Include:
Category Thresholds: Building Contractor
Submissions open at the 1st of each year. Safety Awards
Annually members are recognized for excelling in safety performance through the Nevada Chapter AGC Safety Awards. Each member company submitting makes a commitment to safety & occupational health management. A safe workplace involves an ongoing effort and engages all employees from the top down to actively participate in safety. There are five classifications in the AGC Safety Awards: *General Contractor - Building *General Contractor - Engineering *Construction Managers *Specialty Contractors *Suppliers The AGC Safety Awards are judged in the spring of each year and winners are presented at the annual PINNACLE & Safety Awards Luncheon in May. SIR AWARDS
An acronym for the AGC motto, "Skill, Integrity and Responsibility," the SIR Award is given to honor the men, women and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to Nevada, our quality of life and the construction industry. Originating with the Nevada Chapter in 1967, the SIR Award was adopted by AGC chapters nationwide, including the national office in Washington, D.C. Nominations for SIR Awards are open to any Nevada resident who has made a outstanding contribution to our community or Nevada's construction industry throughout the span of a career. SIR Award recipients are chosen by a special ad hoc committee of AGC past presidents and select board and committee members. Since the award's inception, the Nevada Chapter AGC has given out more than 100 SIR Awards to those who embody Skill, Integrity and Responsibility. SIR Award winners are honored at the Nevada Chapter's Annual Convention and Banquet each winter. A short video production introduces the recipient. To view these videos offers a slice of community history and a look at the individuals and organizations who have shown Skill, Integrity and Responsibility: The SIR Award.
