Labor Relations
AGC’s Labor Relations team works every day to foster productive relationships between unions and contractors while ensuring a fair and competitive environment for both union and open-shop companies. We actively address unfair labor practices and burdensome government regulations, and collaborate closely with our member companies to establish reasonable wage rates, benefits, and working conditions. Our team also provides support with grievances and arbitration, helping save members time and money through the expertise of AGC staff.

Assigning bargaining rights to AGC
AGC negotiates with seven major trades on a single-employer basis. Contractors who choose to assign bargaining rights to AGC realize the following benefits:
- Eligible to participate directly in the collective bargaining process/negotiation of the master labor agreements, saving the time and cost of negotiating individually.
- Automatic termination of your agreements with the various unions upon contract expiration. (Under compliance agreements, your agreement with the union will never expire unless you remember to give timely notice or have negotiated an expiration date in advance.)
- Periodic updates of the wage/benefit schedules, special notices/reminders of contract provisions, and special agreements/letters of understanding.
- Upon contract ratification, each employer assigning rights to AGC has the right to accept or decline the agreement.
